Hi, I’m Elizabeth. Wife, mother, writer, Native Texan and taker of classes. I love to learn new things, whether in a dance class, a Bible study, or just by observing what is going on around me.
Spending quality time with the people I love fills me up. My husband and I have been married 20 years and we have 3 really great kids. I love all of them with my whole heart.
I’ve had a wide variety of jobs, including, but not limited to: Editor for well-known natural gas company magazine, in-home sales consultant for children’s clothing line, and preschool teacher. I’ve worked on Capitol Hill, was a United States Senate Regional Finance Director over seven states, and served in the White House in the Office of Legislative Affairs.
I’ve even started a couple of failed businesses: You Bow Girl (a hair bow-making business with a better name than business plan) and Tiny Fingers Talking, a baby sign language course which landed me in the local paper.
In the summer of 2011, I attended the Proverbs 31 ministries “She Speaks” conference in Concord, NC and it changed my life. You see, even when I was doing all the things listed above, I really just wanted to be a writer. I grew up with a book in my hand and in my head. I wrote a silly little story in the 6th grade that caught the eye of my teacher, and because of her and my parents’ praise and encouragement, I was hooked.
That is, I was hooked until I realized I would need to afford to buy groceries, and gas, and the occasional new pair of jeans (I’m not much of a shopper). But at the “She Speaks” conference the Lord unearthed that long lost dream I had buried underneath piles and piles of laundry, shook the dirt off, and planted it fresh in my heart. Since that time, I have been following this dream where it leads, and it has lead me here.
Thanks for joining me on this journey. Oh – if you want to make sure you don’t miss my posts, be sure to enter your name and email address in the subscription box in the sidebar. I’m looking forward to getting to know you!
